The French design studio, Le3, produced ‘Golden Tiger’, a moving 3D projection of a tiger running swiftly through the streets of Paris. Captured on camera (with no post-production FX), thanks to an innovative process called motion street mapping, the tiger’s image is projected through a car window and its movement is detected with sensors on the car’s wheels. The faster the car accelerates the faster the tiger runs as it blends into the city lights. Via PSFK

LPMT - little free Projection Mapping :: OFx

LPMT is a little projection-mapping tool developed mainly for use in our own office.
It is coded in C++ using OpenFrameworks. It’s based on a simple quad warping paradigm, and, though rather simple, can be used to achieve a complex and professional projection-mapping set-up

This video is an incredible example of Projection Mapping on a motherboard! What I love about this particular application is that the different elements of the board are clearly described without losing the structural integrity of the physical object. I’ve seen projection mappings on shoes and buildings but never on anything so intricate and small. I’ve never seen anything as informative and typographic as this mapping is. I could see this as an effective tool for teaching.

I would love to have the opportunity to experience this in real life. But, I wonder how effective this would be on an unpainted motherboard. Nevertheless I think that this could turn into a super fun interactive piece that informs the user about motherboards (or anything really). This video really makes me want to grab a projector and start something.

The Ice Book by Davy and Kristin McGuire is the story of a princess who lures a boy into the forest in order to warm her heart of ice.

The performance blends animation, puppetry, and film to bring a pop-up book vividly to life in front of the audience’s eyes. More information is available at the project’s website.
