Xavier Hinault has released a new computer vision library for Processing, based on JavaCV and OpenCV 2: JavacvPro. There is a nice write-up of his work on codeanticode. The homepage of JavacvPro (in French) has more information and has several videos demonstrating different use examples.

On Sunday I attended the annual Music Hack Day in Cambridge, where really talented programmers showed off their inventions after 24 hours of coding. One of them was called BetterTaste (no link, but here’s a list of the hacks), which effectively hijacks Spotify’s sharing features. So while you’re blasting Maroon 5, Spotify can fraudulently inform your friends you’re listening to Bon Iver. No one is the wiser.
I’ve been toying with this idea around news content and Facebook’s frictionless sharing, with encouragement from colleagues. I could share your *real* reading habits or ask if you’d rather share the days top news, making it look like you’re well-read to your friends.
